Dean Boyer is a Digital Forensics examiner with over 18 years of experience in the industry. He has worked with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and in the USA with the Houston Forensic Science Center (HFSC). His last position was as a Digital Forensic Examiner with Metadata Forensics LLC a private digital forensics company based out of Richmond Virginia USA.
Dean holds a Master’s Degree from the University College of Dublin in Forensic Computing and Cyber-Crime Investigation and also holds several industry certifications including:
He has provided training to Police Officers, Social Workers, the Legal Industry, and other agencies in the proper procedures of Digital Evidence Handling and Evidence preservation. Dean has also been declared an expert witness in forensic methodologies, cell phone forensics, and data interpretation. He currently is an Adjunct Professor at Champlain College with the Computer Forensic and Digital Investigations Program.
Dean Boyer retired from the Canadian Forces after 22 years of service as a Petty Officer Second Class with the Communications and Electronics Branch. His position required a Top Secret Clearance.
Dean currently resides in Newfoundland and Labrador with his Wife, and his two Adult children.
